Oh, I have come out the other side. Period free for 6 years, had 3 hot flashes, no sweats but my libido moved to Europe or somewhere. And yes I feel invisible. But I also lost my box of "f**ks to give." I feel freer than ever and have just stopped dealing with all the nonsense that used to seem important. I have a loving partner, friends, family. Lost mom last December and that left me unmoored for a while since I spent 2 years taking care of her but am slowly coming to grips with it. I am about to turn 60 and hope the next 40 year's are good ones. I totally get what you are saying. It's a new stage but there are comoensations and I hope you feel, more yourself soon.

Welcome back! I check every few days to see if you've written anything new. I turned 57 in April and can totally relate to everything you wrote. I, too, will work on loving myself first.

I cried after reading this -- I am about to turn 60 in 13 days, and I don't even recognize myself anymore. I am trying to hard to feel comfortable in this "new" skin. I have tried every approach to losing these sneaky 15-20 pounds and nothing has worked. I feel like giving up and buying a muumuu, but that is not my style. I have found a lot of support on YouTube in the community of "older" health, lifestyle and beauty content creators. But I really just want my 40 year old body back--the one before menopause.
