As someone who is also at the age where I'm seeing the violent throes of perimenopause, and also as someone who has had a lifelong struggle with weight, this resonated. I have most definitely turned to comfort eating - to cope with stress, to deal with the weirdness going on with my body, and because honestly the quarantine baking is in excess and someone's gotta eat this bread. :)

That being said, the point regarding following content creators - such as the brilliant Jameela Jamil - is a very helpful one. We are living in a time where people are risking their lives for a haircut, a workout at the gym, or to get their nails done - and for what? Are your roots and your abs more important than your life, or the life of your friends and family who could pay the price for your choices?

Right now is the perfect time to focus on your inner being and really get to know yourself. Think about WHY you feel the need to appear a certain way - think about if it makes YOU happy. If so, then by all means strive for your own happiness! But if not, then be the kind of person that you want to be regardless of the size tag on your pants.
