I have a co-worker who does this constantly. Can't remember how many times I have refered her to snopes. I just gave up and delete them without any acknowledgment.

So far, the "friends" that I've seen this from have been my kids' friends, so I just ignore it. I do wish that more people would check on something before just passing it on blindly though.

As Shawn says - I'm not a sheep, either.
BAAAAAAAAA

I have some relatives that are constantly forwarding me bullshit stuff that if they bothered to investigate they would find out it is not true. I have replied to them with the link to what it says on SNOPES in hopes that NEXT time they might take a moment to investigate before spamming others with it. Unfortunately, I place too much faith in my relatives...and they continue to send me this crap.

I avoid 90% of the "copy and paste this to your status" stuff...and ESPECIALLY refuse to copy and paste the ones that say IF I DON'T COPY AND PASTE it...I don't love God, my fellow man or my friends. Copying and pasting something does not prove a damn thing and me NOT doing so also does not say anything other than I am not a SHEEP.

I don't forward emails of that nature either...nor do I typically reply to them when they say I should reply to the person who sent it to me to "prove" something to them.

Amen. A friend of mine from high school posted that snopes link on fb, and I commented, "Ah, another person who checks snopes before posting/forwarding random crap???? I knew we were friends for a reason! :-)"

I saw something like that yesterday and called them out on it - I hate these types of things with a passion! For Pete's sake, it says "FB is Free and Always Will Be" right on the sign in page - how much more proof do they need???
