This is simply too perfect to let it disappear in the comments section.

On January 20 2009 our nation will witness a man being sworn into the office of the President.
This man will have been elected by the people, for the people. This man will love his country and want to do what is best for this country. This man will have to spend many nights away from those he loves, he will have anguish over decisions he has to make on a day to day basis. This man will represent one of the greatest countries in the world, and will have to ease tensions globally, not just locally. He will have to do what is best for our nation, with the passion to do what is right for the world. This man will be sworn in on January 20th, and each of us will have had our say, in our one single vote that we are given every four years.
Regardless of who this man is, we as a people must put our country first. Regardless of his party, his race, his age, his liberal or conservative views, we must find a way to come together as a nation. We must move past the last 8 years. On January 20th 2009, I am still an American, if Obama or McCain is elected. On January 20th 2009 Americans serving in the middle east will lose their lives, and it won't matter for who they voted for. On January 20th 2009 we will all still be Americans, supporting our country, our troops, our children, our elderly, our poor, our sick. Because that's what we do as Americans. We can bicker about this election all we want, we can accuse one side or the other of being less than worthy, but in the end, on January 20 2009 we will still, including the next president, be Americans.
Everyone (well all of us Americans) who comments in this space will be held to supporting our country, like so many of us have done, even when it seemed like it was impossible. We have a lot to give to this country, liberal, conservative, independent, because we may be different, but we all have the same hope, to do what is best for this country. And that's something we should all be proud of.
I'm standing proud of my brother today. My brother who I worry about every single moment of the day. My brother who wrote to me yesterday, and when I saw his name in my in box I sobbed like a baby. He told me that he loves me, and he's okay, and he told me to keep fighting for him and his friends. And that is what I plan to keep doing, regardless of what happens on January 20th. On that day we're all still Americans, and we will all want what is best for this country.
In the meantime, we are all very passionate about who we think is better to lead us, but we all must keep in mind that we ALL love this country and the hope that is America.
Last night reminded me that despite our vastly different opinions - all of us love this country. Just like Senator McCain and just like Senator Obama. Just like our next president.
