all i can add is that my own kids play the game and every word you said is true. i am impressed every weekend as they grow in skills and their bond deepens. sports like soccer are fantastic because it doesn't matter how big or small you are. there is a place for every child who wants to be a part of something bigger than themself, and who is willing to work hard to get better.

See this is why I come to this blog. I am not a sports fan and really don't know much about soccer but I came away from this entry so inspired and with tears in my throat. I hope all your players and parents read this. They are lucky to have someone like you on their side!

I also had a front row seat for these wonderful young ladies. I am proud of all of them, a real joy to watch them grow and bond.

It was great reading about the girl's tournament. We just spent a weekend of wrapping up football and I know how you feel. When kids that age are playing, you forget that they are kids. They are skilled, fast, competitive, and strong.
Winning or losing, while playing with good sportsmanship, is the only way to play.
It sounds like your weekend was as fun as ours.
Greg
