Back in 1992, political strategist James Carville banged a drum repeatedly for Bill Clinton during his campaign. Over and over, he would answer the question, "What is the campaign about?" with the very pointed, "It's the economy, stupid."
It immediately transmitted purpose, message, and more than a little ennui from being asked something so obvious.
We shall reek for decades.
Throughout the campaign and his subsequent placement in the Oval, his base raised blind defense to an art form.
The schooling of President Obama? Elite. The schooling of Trump? A godsend!
President Obama's tremendous support? He's a celebrity <--dripping with disdain Donald Trump the reality TV star? He's awesome and a great businessman and can say "You're fired!"
Accusations of misconduct against the husband of his opponent? All true! Lock him AND HER up! Accusations of misconduct against Trump? Liars! Whores! Golddiggers!
President Obama golfing? Lazy, stealing time and money from the taxpayers! Trump golfing more in 1 year than Obama did in 8? He is building relationships!
Michelle Obama's bare arms? Disgusting whore demeaning the title of FLOTUS! Melania Trump's bare everything? Classiest First Lady everevereverever!
(For the record - I do not care one whit that Melania had a short lived D level modeling career in which she posed naked and in various poses. Her life, her choice. I do care that conservatives hold her up as some classy example of womanhood while deriding Michelle Obama at every turn.)
The Obamas regularly attending church together? Secret Muslims setting up Sharia Law! Trump having zero use for church his entire life? He is an Angel of Chaos sent from God Himself!
Those are just the pathetically obvious ones. The ones his toddleresque base still refuse to acknowledge regardless of how remedial one lays it out for them. And they simply refuse to see that our pointing it out is not just some sore loser syndrome, but because of the blatant bullshittery of it all. So let me borrow from James C, and say:
IT'S THE HYPOCRISY, STUPID.
When you lambaste someone for something, then turn around and do it yourself or support someone doing it - that is called HYPOCRISY. Or maybe in the case of Cult 45, HYPOCRAZY.
Last night was another stellar example of Trump's verbal diarrhea and bloviating biting him in his Depends. So hot to Tweet about Colin Kaepernick and those who supported his silent taking of a knee during the playing of the National Anthem, last night found our oh-so-patriotic BLOATUS standing on the field at the College Football Playoff National Championship in Atlanta.
As the anthem began, hand over the place where his heart would be if he had one, it became very obvious that Mr. I-Love-The-Anthem-So-Bigly, did not, in fact EVEN KNOW THE FUCKING WORDS.
Look, I don't particularly care one way or another. He barely knows his own name, so why would anyone expect him to know the lyrics to a song he has never had any use for until it became a political football he could hurl at black athletes daring to point out the hypocrisy of the words, and this country as a whole? The point here again, for you slow learners in the decaying flesh that is the MAGAt corpse, is the HYPOCRISY AT PLAY.
Threatening the jobs of those he targets for their kneeling, calling them "sons of bitches," yet not even knowing the words to the song he says is sacrosanct?
"Oh, you just hate him no matter what he does."
No, I don't. I detest him.
But I don't detest him because he golfs. I detest him because he has spent hundreds of millions of our tax dollars golfing in a single year, after openly bragging how he would never go golfing because there would be too much to do.
I don't detest him because he Tweets. I detest him for what he Tweets. How he targets individuals, goads an equally unstable genius in North Korea, LIES CONSTANTLY.
I don't detest him for not knowing exactly how governance works in this country. I detest him for flaunting his ignorance and his open intellectual incuriosity that has him no wiser since January 20, 2017.
I don't detest him as sport. I detest him because he is detestable. He has always been detestable. He will always be detestable.
His behavior as a reprobate, grifter, conman, and sexual raconteur go back decades and decades. He reveled in grabbing as much pussy as he wanted and regaling the Stern audience with his sexploits for years. His behavior, bankruptcies, cheating contractors, infidelity, and self worship have been chronicled for almost half a century. Even he joined in by calling various media outlets, thinly disguised as "John Barron", and salting the gossip mines with salacious Trump stories. He coordinated the entire Marla Maples interview in which she recited he "is the best sex I've ever had."
Yet for all this black and white evidence of his criminal ways, his sexual grifter lifestyle, his lack of even basic decency - you hypocrites still defend him. A man with two ex-wives, both of whom he cheated on, and a current whose Googled name brings up completely naked photos. A man with five children by three wives, not to mention a trail of busted businesses and lawsuits that he settled, and a tape of him bragging about "grabbing them by the pussy."
Place that descriptor on President Obama, and you people would have burned the White House down before letting him set foot inside.
That is the definition of HYPOCRISY, stupid.
Now. let's hear you sing the entire National Anthem. No Googling allowed. Good luck.
