Life is not easy. Money is tight, time is always at a premium, we stress, we fret, we worry, we constantly feel like we have buckshot running through our veins, and that all it will take is one wrong word from the wrong person for us to shoot our mouths off.
We see people fistfight over video games at Christmas; get into brawls on the sidelines of kids' sporting events; literally take to the streets for rumbles over Facebook postings; and shank one another in darkened movie theaters over perceived volume slights.
To paraphrase the old movie, It's A Sad, Sad, Sad World.
While none of the above described behavior is forgiveable - it's not - this one takes the cake in terms of over reaching.
Literally.
A 41 year old woman in China rolled into town to pick up her child from school. She attempted to park her scooter in an empty space in front of a store. Seemingly no big deal, right?
Well, it is in a place where parking space - even the minimal amount required for a scooter - is at a premium.
The shopkeeper told her NO and told her to move her scooter.
OK, I get it. We have signs outside stores all over this country stating "This Space Reserved For Patrons Of XYZ." She was not shopping, so he didn't want space for a potential customer taken away.
Instead of gracefully scootering down the road, the woman got into a fight with the man. She then called her husband and brother for backup. They proceeded to pummel the man.
That would be bad enough, but the woman was not to be bested by the men in her life.
No, she reached out with her Kung Foo grip (all pun intended) and grabbed the man by his "grocery bag."
That takes balls. Literally.
She then squeezed like they were made out of Charmin and Mr. Whipple was on vacation. The man eventually blacked out and collapsed to the ground.
He was taken to the local hospital where HE DIED.
Look, I have long instructed my daughters to take aim and play Hacky Sack with a man's beanbag should they feel threatened, but there is a difference between self defense and batshit crazy.
Again, the world is a stressful place, it just is. But can't we all practice a little more patience, take a deep breath, think twice and act once, before we reach out and savage someone's whisker biscuits over a parking spot?
Can't we all just get a dong along?
that all it will take is one wrong word from the wrong person for us to shoot our mouths off.

I have a feeling we're going to see more stories like this in the not too distant future. What will the squeezer be charged with?

Linda: Can I just say, that you have an incredible talent and wit for writing. From the very sad or passionate ones to the funny ones, your posts are always something I inhale, word for word. Your comment, "we constantly feel like we have buckshot running through our veins, and that all it will take is one wrong word from the wrong person for us to shoot our mouths off" so accurately pinpoints the problem in the world today. If everyone would take a deep breath, take two steps back, and think, we'd be alot better off.

I heard this story and thought wtf? I told my BF the story and he was suddenly quite amiable about giving me a longer backrub than he wanted to! LOL Neither one of us ever heard of anyone dying from a nut twist.
