We're back. Well, we actually got back Thursday afternoon, but life being what it is, we literally hit the ground running from the airplane to CATZ for Carson's workout. This weekend we were swept into her club's huge college showcase - her team played four full length games in bitter cold - culminating in the final match being played in SLEET and SNOW.
Yes, SLEET and SNOW in Austin, Texas. But Texas being truly bi-POLAR in her weather habits, we will be 78 later this week.
The cruise was wonderful. We sailed on Disney's newest ship, The Dream, meeting up with my sister, brother-in-law, their daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren, and my brother and his wonderful girlfriend.
Sadly, as life tends to make people grow up, Culley and Kendall could not skip a week of college classes. Carson's playmate for the trip was her bff, Cristina. But C&K were there in spirit. I laminated their heads and they photobombed their way from Austin to Dallas to Nassau to Castaway to Houston and back.
This was our fifth Disney cruise and I simply cannot say enough wonderful things about the cruiseline. A Disney Cruise is NOT just for little ones firmly ensconced in the Princess and Lion King years. Carson and Cristina are 15 and had a blast. They ruled over Vibe - the teen club on the ship. And we adults' only complaint is that four nights was not enough to truly take in everything the ship had to offer us. (We knew this going in, but the Dream is not yet doing 7 night cruises and Carson desperately wanted to sail on the Dream with the Aquaduck!)
My full Disney Cruise album is up at Facebook, but here are a few highlights...
Culley and Kendall on the plane to the cruise
Carson, Cristina, and my beautiful niece, Maggie
My lovely sister, Kim, on the Grand Staircase
Cristina and Carson at Atlantis on Nassau
The girls at dinner in The Royal Palace
Getting ready to cast off - Debbie and Culley saw us on the Port Canaveral webcam!
My sister and I found our way to Pink - the champagne bar onboard.
We actually got to sit next to each other!
Building sand castles on Castaway Cay
It was a great trip and yes, we plan on booking a 6th - next time on the even newer, and bigger-by-1-foot, Disney Fantasy! Ahoy!

Glad you had such a nice time. Is it me, or does Carson strongly resemble your sister Kim? THEY look like sisters to me!

Great pictures! I was thinking of you on your cruise last week and wondering how it was without Kendall and Culley. We will be going on our first vacation without our college freshman daughter this spring break and I think it will be odd for all of us. I think even her brother will miss having her around to nag :) Glad you had a good time!

Such beautiful smiling happy faces - love that the whole family was there to share the joy! Culley and Ken must have been tickled with your photos - they really are clever... Glad everyone had a safe time - even gladder (gladder?) that you are back!

I saw some of your pictures on Facebook when I logged on over the weekend - looks like you had a blast! I did laugh out loud at the head shots you had for C&K - - hysterical!
