Hey Linda,
Monday was a really rough day on everyone. I'm not sure how Melissa is going through what she is, or my brother for that matter. The hearing today was really hard on Melissa especially. The attorney attacked her in ways that were just unheard of, questioning why she would want to be a stay at home mom, and more. Melissa has done more than anyone could ever expect of her. I don't want to get into the details, but needless to say Melissa is a strong woman who made really strong choices in her life that were not only best for her and safest for her, but for her children. That she is being attacked is just sickening.
The court case today was really not a win or a loss. Basically, the judge needs a lot more information, from both sides and they will have another court date in 15 days. While I understand that the judge is trying to be fair and trying to treat everyone the same, it's really hard to watch from the sidelines and know the entire story, and have this not be a cut and dry case.
Just a reminder - Melissa is 8 months pregnant. She needed to be in Tucson yesterday, and now it looks like she'll have to stay in the area she is in now through the birth. There are a lot of reasons why this complicates things even further.
Meanwhile, my brother is a world away and completely stressed out over all of this, and can not do anything, and still is facing not being home for the birth. When he was re-deployed they told him he would be home in plenty of time for the birth, but it's the military and they keep changing the date on him and pushing it back. *Just an FYI troop tours are MUCH longer than they have ever been, and most of our troops get re-deployed over and over through a lot of loop holes.*
So, all of this to say - there is no answer yet. The lawyer on Melissa's side is still confident that they will win the case hands down - but they did not have all the proof in writing that they were needing and the other side asked for more time.
Thank you so much for your thoughts/vibes/prayers/candle lightings today, I can't tell you how much it has meant to our family. There are a lot of needs right now and if you'd like to help or send a note or anything really please shoot me an e-mail at: constantinearts at gmail dot com (sorry, have to spell it out to thwart the spammers).
And I'll keep you updated on what is going on. Thank you so much again -
Natala, Natala's Mom, Melissa & Marcel and of course Isabella who is waiting this all out in the comfy womb.

Hang in there Natala, Melissa, and all the rest of the family - everything will turn out for the best!

I can't imagine how frustrating this whole thing must be for your family. Have faith, though. This is the hardest time to muster through.
