Flight 514 to AI Recap: Delayed
Hey everybody, with a huge MEA CULPA up front (God knows, if I get my arse reamed for posting a satirical recap last week, I fear what repercussions NOT posting one on time will earn me), I need to let you know that the Results Recap will not be up until tomorrow.
Things are a little off kilter for a Wednesday night on this end.
Carson's training has been backed up by an hour and a half, Culley has play rehearsal, and Kendall has been asked to center a select game that does not even start until 8pm tonight across town.
Translation: My evening will be spent primarily in my minivan, and while it does have many bells and whistles (DVD player, Sirius Radio, stow-n-go seats, seat warmers, sunroof), it does not have a satellite dish and TV.
So, please talk amongst yourselves in the Chat Room, post your comments here after you watch, and look for the recap to go up tomorrow as soon as I can bang it out.
Sometimes real life IS more important than American Idol.
~~ Linda :O)

So, why do you need the bun warmers in Texas?

Dusk - Believe it or not, it DOES get colder than a witch's ..... you know what ..... here in Texas.

Have fun running to & fro - I will eagerly await the recrap tomorrow morning with my hot coffee!! =)

You crack me up...I think I speak for the majority when I say we can certainly wait until tomorrow for our Idol fix. Thanks for the warning tho, & have a blast running around town. Believe it or not...i miss those days of multiple Little League games, practices, school projects, church youth group functions & soccer games. Whew...no wonder I was skinny back then!!!

Because I weigh 100 pounds and get cold really easy!

Drive safely, Linda. I can certainly relate. My e-mail screenname is still AMOMONTHEMOVE due to all the running to and fro I did. Now that Randy can finally drive himself, I could get away with changing it to AMOMFINALLYGETTINGTOSITONHERASS. (Don't tell him - but I miss all that taxi mom stuff at times.)

No worries Linda - do it when you can and if it just doesn't fit in your schedule, I think we would all live without it. I for one, do not expect you to put your blog first over your family, life and health.

Wait a minute!!! Are you actually saying that I will look back to my taxi days for three kids with a misty-eyed nostalgia. NOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Enjoy your time with your family, Linda. And again, thanks for your dedication to your fellow AI-crack addicts. I look forward to reading it, whenever it comes up!
And breathe easy - only one more week!!!

Yes, Sue, you really will miss the good ole days when you took the kids everywhere they needed to be and picked them up - the days when you never worried about where they were and who they were with - the days when you knew exactly when they were going to a certain place and at exactly what time they could be back home safely. We can only hope that we've done our job well enough that they make good choices when out on their own. The hardest part is knowing they are all grown up and don't need you in the same way - they still need you, but parenting adult childen is a whole different ballgame.

Linda, I hope you had a good night on the night shift of Mom's Taxi & Limo service.
I know you often speed through the guest performers but you HAVE to watch Fantasia if only to see the priceless look on Simon's face because, as much as I like her, I was left as bewildered as he was!

Yes, Linda, we're spoiled. But just like any other petulant child, we'll et over it! See (hear) from you tomorrow. Enjoy your time with your babies--you will miss it someday.

Shall I profer a platitude? When you put your family first, the rest will fall into place naturally.
Read ya in the mornin'. :-)

I'm still chuckling about that look on Simon's face while Fantasia was strutting her stuff. It's almost as if he's thinking, "My God, what have we spawned?"
Apart from the RED/ORANGE hair, F looked like she was having a ball up there. Don't understand a quarter of what she was doing, but that's OK. She sure has matured into a polished presence on the stage. Good for her!!

I, too, loved that "WTF?"look on Simon's face, but I've always felt that way about Fantasia. Was NEVER EVER a fan of that one. Can't wait til next week. I truly hope DC knocks little DA off his throne, but I'm so worried about daddy knocking his crown off if DC does win the title.

Thank you for even worrying about us enough to warn us. Your family is much more important in your life than we are . . . and most of us understand and appreciate that. And, yes, moms & dads, you will miss this time. I do (and look forward to when I can do some running for my daughters w/my grandchildren).

Time with your babies is FAR more important than AI - don't worry about us. We'll still be here when you get back. :-)

I understood NOTHING of what Fantasia did or one word she sang (that word used speculatively). I was wondering if she was on drugs. Or maybe I was. But then when I saw Simon I realized I wasn't halucinating.
What an awful mess. Is this supposed to assure Syesha that even tho she got kicked off she can still have a career??
Be interesting to see if Simon did any interviews afterwards.

Just a warning to everyone, including you, Linda, that here in Central Texas much of AI was interrupted by storm warnings. We had several tornado warnings, baseball size hail in a number of places, and power outages of at least 28,000, so all you lurkers out here, don't be surprised if some of the recap is "...we interrupt your normally scheduled program to bring you a weather alert from the National Weather Service...." In Austin we didn't hear but about the last minute of Fantasia's number (which I LOVED, by the way, but I'm aware she's an acquired taste) and we couldn't hear the actual results due to pre-empted audio. Just so ya know.....
BTW, I predict that David is the next American Idol. You can take it to the bank!

OK, Fantasia was known for her wondeful voice...not her look, not her dancing. So what the heck was up last night? There was no singing that I could make out, just some bad gyrating with backup singers. If I saw her on the street, I would truly be scared. The look on Simon's face said it all. That was classic!!!
