WOW - that was incredible!!! I had NO idea David Cook was so multi-talented. Doing that kind of physical comedy, live on stage, is something most folks just can't do - even with years of practice. Yet he was totally comfortable and SO entertaining! Watching that clip, I was reminded of Dick Van Dyke - one of the best physical-comedy artists of all time (although he needs SERIOUS work on foreign accents). But the thing that stood out most from that clip, for me, was his beautiful, strong voice.
We got a winner here, folks. I'm convinced, now more than ever, that David Cook deserves the "American Idol" title. He's an all-around entertainer.
Thank you so much for sharing that, Linda. That was a GREAT way to start off my Saturday!
WOW! He's been my favorite right along but this just blows me away - I can barely sing while walking - he's doing handstands and backflips and flinging himself all over the place in an amazing performance - while maintaining a strong and clear singing voice - all at the age of ... what? 16? Multi-talented ... multi-faceted and a really nice guy! Go David - now THIS is an Idol! Thanks for posting this Linda!
Anyone who can sing while doing a hand-stand, after several minutes of physical comedy...well, that's one talented guy! This old cougar sure loves her some David Cook!
Wow - DC really is talented. They should show this at the final show, he would win for sure!
This YouTube comment was funny too, noting the time stamp on the video camera:
"holy shit this video was recorded in 2082. so David Cook was in high school 74 years from now and traveled back in time to appear on American Idol. It all makes sense now!"
Elaine, I am right there with you. I am playing his Idol songs in my car, on my I-pod, on the home stereo and trolling david-cook.org for information about the songs he's singing next week. I truly have issues at this point.
You're right, Darla. I actually suspect it's why he doesn't seem to mind them too much. And all of the contestants this year seem to have a better sense of ensemble singing than any of the past groups have.
Frankie-David Cook has a website?!! Holy crap! I'm going there right now. But first, I need some music in the background. Maybe some Billie Jean? Always Be My Baby? All I Really Need is You? I'm glad to know there are others out there as obsessed as I am. Thanks! LOL!
Well, that was certainly another side of my favorite Idol! We know that Syesha will be great on Broadway, but it looks like DC would fit in there too!

I LOVE DAVID COOK! Good lord, it's bordering on obsession now, lol. I'm a big theatre geek, so that just warmed my heart! Thanks, Linda!

This just proves DC could make the group song so much better if only given a chance!

Linda in Ft Myers - you have one heck of a commute, girl! But isn't this coast of ours a lovely lovely place to live?
